Ollama does not start
Symptoms
Section titled “Symptoms”Local summaries, chat, model controls, or the startup message report that the bundled Ollama runtime is unavailable.
Likely causes
Section titled “Likely causes”Bundled runtime assets may be missing or unable to start, a prior runtime may not have exited cleanly in development, or the local loopback service may not be ready.
Fast checks
Section titled “Fast checks”Confirm that Local (Ollama) is selected, open Model Manager, and use Refresh after startup settles. Preserve the startup message and do not treat an External API configuration as a repair for a local-runtime failure.
Resolution
Section titled “Resolution”Restart Synthezia and retry the local runtime check. If the exact packaged build keeps reporting missing bundled assets or an immediate exit, use an approved reinstall or escalate the artifact failure with its message.
Data-loss warning
Section titled “Data-loss warning”Do not reset app data to repair a missing runtime. Resetting removes sessions and settings while leaving the underlying bundle problem unresolved.
Information to collect for support
Section titled “Information to collect for support”Collect the startup message, application version, artifact source, macOS version, selected provider, selected local model, and whether Model Manager refresh succeeds.
