Install Synthezia on macOS
Outcome
Section titled “Outcome”Synthezia is placed in your Applications folder and opens from there.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Use only the macOS artifact supplied by your approved beta or release channel. Official releases are signed with a Developer ID certificate, notarized by Apple, and stapled — both the disk image and the application inside it — so macOS validates them normally and no bypass is needed or offered here.
- Open the supplied disk image or archive in Finder.
- Move
Synthezia.appto Applications when the artifact’s instructions present that destination. - Eject the disk image after the copy completes.
- Open Synthezia from Applications.
Expected result
Section titled “Expected result”The application opens and starts its bundled local runtime. You can then continue to first-run setup.
If macOS blocks the app
Section titled “If macOS blocks the app”A correctly downloaded official release does not trigger a Gatekeeper block, so treat one as a signal that the artifact is incomplete, modified, or not from the official release page — not as something to work around. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally or run a terminal command that strips macOS protection attributes. Re-download from the official release page and verify the artifact name and version against the release record.
Development setup is different
Section titled “Development setup is different”Building from source requires the developer toolchain described in the repository README and is not an end-user installation path.
