App does not start

Synthezia closes immediately, never presents its main window, or shows a startup error before you can open a session.

The application bundle, local runtime assets, operating-system compatibility, security controls, or a previous incomplete installation can prevent startup. A configured minimum version is not a verified hardware matrix.

If Synthezia opens a window with a message that it could not unlock existing local data, that is not this symptom — it is Recovery Mode, a normal, non-destructive screen, not a crash. See Local data storage for what each option there does before choosing one.

Restart macOS, verify that the artifact came from the approved channel, and preserve the exact visible message. Do not infer that a missing local model is the cause until the application reaches the model UI.

Try a freshly obtained approved artifact only after preserving your existing application data and source recordings. Escalate a repeatable startup failure with the collected environment details rather than resetting data first.

Do not use Reset app data if the application cannot launch; it removes records and does not repair a bundle or platform failure.

Collect application version, artifact name, macOS version, architecture, launch message, when it closes, and whether a prior build opened on the same device.
