Recording consent
Obtain the permission you need before recording
Section titled “Obtain the permission you need before recording”You are responsible for confirming that you are allowed to record, transcribe, summarize, export, and share the meeting content. Consent and notice requirements can depend on location, organization policy, contractual obligations, meeting platform settings, and the people involved.
Synthezia does not determine whether a recording is lawful, notify participants on your behalf, or obtain consent for you.
Consider what a live capture can include
Section titled “Consider what a live capture can include”- Microphone recording can capture your voice and nearby sound.
- With macOS Screen Recording access, system-audio capture can include other participants from supported meeting or browser audio paths.
- Transcripts, summaries, local indexes, and exports can repeat sensitive content from the recording.
- Selecting an external provider can send supported text and context derived from that content to the provider you configured.
A practical pre-recording check
Section titled “A practical pre-recording check”- Confirm the meeting’s recording policy and any applicable consent requirement.
- Tell participants what will be recorded and how you intend to use the transcript or summary when that notice is required by your policy or context.
- Confirm whether remote AI processing is permitted; select Local Mode if it is not.
- Verify the correct microphone and Screen Recording permissions before capturing live audio.
- Review who may access the resulting session, export, and any remote-provider account.
